Over the past few years, we have worked with several forward-facing, transformative libraries of all scales and in all climates. They have utilized their outdoor spaces to create inspirational music gardens and courtyards that provide equitable access to participative music-making within their communities.

With the future of music education and the arts under threat, libraries may hold the key to securing their long-term availability and becoming the new music champions for the young and the young at heart.

Libraries featuring outdoor musical instruments will add a fun and significant asset to the community, inspiring and engaging people in new and exciting ways. Outdoor musical instruments installed outside libraries will encourage serendipitous encounters and interactions within the community.

The Rainbow Cavatina and Music Book

The Rainbow Cavatina is a versatile and durable instrument with diatonically tuned, anodized notes that produce vibrant sound. It suits musicians of all levels and can be played in challenging outdoor environments. Our Music Book has notes that correspond with the colored notes on the instrument. By following the colors on the music sheets, players can easily play well-known songs.

 In addition to our standard terms and conditions the following will apply:

The prize will be shipped shortly after the PLA2024 expo. The winning entrant must be able to accept their prize within approx 2-4 weeks of the competition closing.

  • Promotion is not valid with any other product, offer, or discount
  • The competition is intended for viewing and participation in the contiguous United States only (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, its territories, possessions, and commonwealths)
  • The competition ends following the PLA2024 conference on April 5, 2024.
  • How to Enter: You may enter the competition online by visiting the Percussion Play website (www.percussionplay.com/competition) and completing and submitting the online entry form (limit one (1) online entry on the website, per valid email address).
  • Eligibility: This competition is open only to attendees of the PLA2024 Conference who are located in the contiguous US (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, its territories, possessions, and commonwealths) who are 21 years of age or older as of April 3, 2024.
  • Employees are entering the contest on BEHALF of their organization. Percussion Play reserves the right to review the credentials of any potential prize winner. It reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any person/organization based on such review if we determine in its sole discretion that any potential Prize Winner is not a bona fide library setting.
  • Percussion Play will choose one (1) potential Prize Winner in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the entire competition period on or about April 5, 2024 (the "Prize Drawing"). Percussion Play anticipates that the potential Prize Winner will be contacted by phone, email, or writing.
  • The winner will be responsible for the installation and all costs relating to the installation, including site preparation. Complete installation instructions will be provided with the instruments.
  • If Percussion Play is unable to contact the potential Prize Winner within three (3) business days of the initial attempt, if the potential Prize Winner fails to return all requested forms fully executed and notarized by the specified date, or if the potential Prize Winner fails to comply with these Official Rules, their place as a potential Prize Winner will be forfeited at Percussion Play's discretion. An alternate Prize Winner shall be selected.
  • By entering into the competition, each entrant consents to the use by Percussion Play of the entrant's name, photograph, likeness, biography, voice, performance, and video for advertising and promotional purposes in any media now or hereafter known throughout the universe in perpetuity and without additional compensation, notification or permission, except where prohibited by law. The rights include on-location or studio-based on-air camera appearances, footage created when the potential Prize Winner is contacted, and any photographs, videos, or other materials provided by the Prize Winner to Percussion Play.
