Read about Grove Park Community Special School to see how their outdoor musical instruments are utilized.

In 2016 Tricia Gray, Trustee of Grove Park Charitable Trust, set out to fundraise on behalf of Grove Park Community Special School to develop the outdoor space at its Primary School site. The school in East Sussex is located towards the north of the county and has a wide catchment area. Around 140 children are based on three sites that support pupils with complex needs, including those with profound, severe, and moderate learning difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and sensory needs.

@uplandcds in Chester County, PA, has created its very own musical garden to spark creativity and encourage musical learning and group play for its preschool students. The co-educational private school in the county for preschool to 9th-grade students, created the musical garden earlier this year to fill an outdoor space in a creative way for students to enjoy, specifically pre-school students.

Our Co-Founder, Jody, was interviewed by @rnib Connect Radio about our activity with the @rsbccharity and @theambertrust last month.

Our percussion workshop with children and young adults who are visually impaired went down really well as we asked participants and their families and friends, how we can make our outdoor musical instruments even more accessible to young blind and partially sighted people.

The percussion workshop was lead by Amber Music Trust Practitioner Gennie Joy who guided children and their families in playing Percussion Play’s Babel Drums, Cyclone, Cavatina, Tubular Bells and much more. Have a listen in our stories. 🎶
